Martine Karsenty-Ricard was a speaker during the Annual Congress of the UIA (International Association of Lawyers) as part of a panel moderated by Massimo Sterpi and Marita Dargalo, lawyers based in Milan and Barcelona respectively, on the topic: “How new technologies are reshaping the activities and business models of museums and cultural institutions.”
More specifically, her presentation focused on the challengesof artificial intelligence in the area of artworks and the growing role of digital art in museums.
After having given some representative examples of the implication of big museums in the presentation of digital artworks, she went in particular into issues related to copyright protection for works created by artificial intelligence.
